Words

My words never fall from my lips
As easily as they do from my fingertips
A sentence falls over my tongue and trips
And I am left here fumbling
My words bumbling, stumbling
So unlike the way they dance from my fingertips

Smoothly a paragraph into existence slips
A whole universe into existence rips
The words dance from my fingertips
A surefire tap-tap tango of penmanship
Without mid-sentence censorship
Sudden thematic jumps and skips
No muddled words or syllable flips
No clumsy articulation or freudian slips
Because words fall from my fingertips
The way they never did from my tongue and lips
